In the mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California became one of the most dangerous places in the United States due to crime, drugs, gangs and other problems. Five young people from this area: Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson Jr.), M Ren (Aldis Hodge), Dr. Dre (Corey Hawkins), DJ Yella (Neil Brown Jr.), and Eazy-E (Jason Mitchell) gathered together to form the rap group NWA, transforming their growth experiences into rude and direct music, and using it to convey their resistance to the authorities.
