After their teenage son dies in a car accident, Paul (Andrew Shansnig) and Anne (Barbara Crampton) move to the quiet New England countryside to start a new life. But the grieving couple unknowingly becomes prey to a new house inhabited by a vengeful spirit. Before long, they discover that their seemingly peaceful town hides a dark and terrifying secret. Now, they must find ways to overcome their grief and struggle for the living and the dead, as the malevolent ghost threatens to take their own soul and that of their dead son and take him with him to Hell.
