Mark (played by Chow Yun-fat) and Zhimin (played by Tony Leung) are cousins. They are both overseas Chinese in Vietnam and are now developing in Hong Kong. Unexpectedly, the Vietnam War broke out. Both of them were very worried about the safety of Zhimin's father, Uncle Song, who still lived in Saigon, Vietnam. In order to raise enough money to bring Zhimin's father to Hong Kong, the two decided to help the local gangs smuggle arms to Vietnam. Unexpectedly, they were ambushed by Sangbang in Vietnam.
