Plot:
The film is set in a surreal world full of shadows and gray. The protagonists of the plot are two unnamed boys (voiced by Shinpachi Nezu) and girls (voiced by Mako Hyoudo). The girl carries a mysterious egg with her. She spends a lot of time collecting bottles and handicrafts in a Gothic dead city. One day, the boy carrying a cross-shaped weapon on his back also comes to the town with a mysterious machine. At the same time, the figure of a giant coelacanth appears above the town, and the people in the city come alive in groups and start hunting these fish with spears. In the girl's giant cave-like bottle, like a shelter, there are collections. The boy waits for the girl to fall asleep and then breaks the mysterious egg. The girl is very angry and follows the boy who has already left. In the end, the girl sinks into the valley and dies. The bubbles she spits out of her mouth eventually turn into eggs. This film was co-produced by Japanese director Mamoru Oshii and renowned illustrator Yoshitaka Amano. It was released by Tokuma Shoten in 1985 and republished on DVD in 2007. The film's narration is by Keiichi Noda.
