The story is set in Germany during World War I. Manfred von Richthofen is a German pilot who has a proud record of shooting down 80 enemy aircraft. He is known as the ace of trump cards and his nickname is "Red Baron". This film is adapted from the life of this legendary figure. Manfred (Matthias Schweighöfer) was born in a famous family and has been looking forward to flying since he was a child. After becoming a German pilot, he won the respect of others, including enemy pilots shot down by him, with his superb skills and unique combat style.
