Plot:
Under the brutal rule of the Taliban, civilians, especially women, live in Afghanistan in dire straits. The stubborn little girl Parvana (voiced by Saara Chaudry) went out with her father (voiced by Ali Rizvi Badshah) to earn money to support her family. She not only witnessed her father being insulted and humiliated by his former students, but also witnessed her father being illegally arrested with her family. With a sick mother, an adult sister and a hungry brother, the young Parvana could only cut her hair, disguise herself as a boy and walk out of the house, embarking on a life-or-death journey to support her family. In the process, she met her former partner who also dressed as a boy, and became friends with a silent and burly Taliban member. When the shadow of war approaches again, Parvana tries every means to find her missing father and bring him home... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Deborah Ellis.
