Plot:
Genius and madman are often just two descriptions of the same person. Detective Chen Guibin (played by Lau Ching-wan) is such a character. Like the genius painter Van Gogh, he once cut off his ear. Despite solving countless cases and having extraordinary detective skills, he was eventually regarded as a madman by the secular world and retired from the police station early. Detective Ho Ka-on (played by Andy On) received a difficult case. The crime scene was in the woods. After two police officers, Wang Guozhu (played by Lee Kwok-lam) and Ko Chi-wai (played by Lam Ka-tung), investigated the case, only Ko Chi-wai returned safely, while Wang Guozhu and his gun mysteriously disappeared. Ho Ka-on invited Chen Guibin to give him guidance, but he did not expect Chen Guibin's "madman" behavior to be revealed again during the investigation. He concluded that Ko Chi-wai was the murderer in this case and based his reasoning on a lot of his own imagination.
