The 10-episode series is a prequel to the 1982 film "The Dark Crystal", exploring the world of Thra. The film mainly tells the story of the Dark Crystal that broke thousands of years ago, creating two races: the terrible Skeksis, who use the remaining power of the Dark Crystal to sustain their lives; and a group of kind and gentle wizards Mystics. The cruel Skeksis are committed to immortality. Jen and Kira, the last two survivors of the Gelfling race, must embark on an adventure with the last remaining fragments of the crystal to repair the crystal and avoid the natural disaster that will destroy their world. The series will tell the story of three young Gelflings who discovered a terrible secret, inspiring an uprising against the cruel emperor.
