Plot:
Erga (later renamed Liu Zhengguang) is a rural boy with a talent for table tennis and a loyal and honest character. With his sharp "ball-cutting" technique, he won the favor of Wang Binghui, the Yong'an Sports Committee, who was recruiting table tennis talents, and was invited to represent the county team in the competition. Liu's father wanted his son to join the army, and he tried to stop him from playing, but he arranged a marriage for him with Ma's daughter Cuicui in private. But in order to fulfill his dream of playing table tennis, Liu Zhengguang sneaked into Yong'an Gymnasium, met the main player of the women's team Xu Qian and teammates Du Jianhua and Sun Shaojie, and began his lifelong journey of table tennis. Against the backdrop of the times and the many tests of life, Liu Zhengguang went from an unknown person to the provincial team seedling training team, the national team, and from "wild ball" to national competitions, and then to international competitions. The fate of Liu Zhengguang, his teammates, family, and fellow villagers has changed with the changes of the times. The play vividly reproduces the glorious years of several table tennis players between the late 1950s and the 1980s, depicting the story of a generation of national table tennis players fighting for the country.
