This drama was jointly produced by South Korea's SBS TV and Japan's NHK TV in 2010 and is adapted from Stendhal's famous work "The Red and the Black". Director Lee Hyung-min won the Best Director Award at the 2011 First Asian Rainbow Awards for this drama. 20 years ago, Shen Jianxu (played by Kim Nam-gil) was mistakenly adopted by Chairman Hong of the chaebol family Poseidon Group as an illegitimate child for a period of time. But later, because he found the so-called real child, he was abandoned on a rainy night. And his adoptive parents who loved him deeply died in a car accident on the way to pick him up home. He therefore hated the Poseidon Group and always wanted revenge. 20 years later, Jianxu wandered among the members of the Poseidon Family and started the revenge war he had planned for a long time. And behind this silent war is his covetous eyes on the position of the Poseidon Group. Wen Zaiyin (played by Han Jiaren) dreams of being a noble and rich wife of the chaebol family, so she deliberately approaches Hong Taicheng (played by Kim Jae-wook), the heir of the Poseidon Group. Jianxu sees through her goal of getting married, but she is inexplicably attracted to Jianxu. What will be the fate of these three people?
