The drama is adapted from the novel "The Princess" by Mo Shubai. In the story, the princess of the Xia Dynasty, Li Rong (played by Zhao Jinmai), and the prime minister of the dynasty, Pei Wenxuan (played by Zhang Linghe), return to their prime years in a dream, and go from enemies to besties, and then to lovers.
