In 1942, Seoul, South Korea, was still called Gyeongseong at that time and was under Japanese colonial rule. Kim Dong-won (Kim Tae-woo) and Kim In-young (Kim Bo-kyung), a couple who returned from studying in Japan, were commissioned by their superiors to work in Gyeongseong's An Hospital. From the outside, this is a beautiful building with a European style, but inside, there are always strange things happening. People from all over the world gathered in the hospital. Among them, there is Zhennan (Chen Jiu), a former art student who is about to marry the daughter of the hospital director; and Li Xiuren (Li Dongkui), a gloomy but highly skilled doctor. They met all kinds of people in the hospital. Zhennan had an incomprehensible feeling about the corpse of a female high school student who committed suicide; Xiuren met an aphasic girl (Gao Zhuyan); and Dongyuan discovered that his wife seemed to be hiding some secrets. The world outside the hospital was in flames, and the situation inside the hospital was also confusing. Is this just a strange story, or is it true?
