Plot:
Emma is the last work published by Jane Austen before her death. This version is a mini-series launched by BBC in 2009. Emma Woodhouse (played by Romola Garai) is from a wealthy family, smart and beautiful, eloquent and pretentious. She has made up her mind not to get married, but she has an interesting hobby - she loves to be a matchmaker. But every time she matches people up, she does it on a whim or impulse, and often ends in failure. Emma's interference in other people's marriages has aroused the dissatisfaction of her old friend Knightley (played by Jonny Lee Miller). He warned her that she should let the two lovers deal with the marriage independently, and other people's interference will only mess things up. This also made Emma begin to reflect on her behavior. As she gradually got along with Knightley, Emma discovered the shining points in him. In the end, although Emma did not match others up, she fell in love with Knightley and got married.
