Emma Thompson has joined the limited series Years Years, a joint production of BBC, HBO and Canal Plus. The director is Simon Cellan Jones (Boardwalk Empire) and the screenwriter is Russell T Davies (A Very English Scandal). The series is set in the future and revolves around the story of a British family from 2019 to 2034. Thompson plays a female politician in the series. The series has already started filming in Manchester.
