The second season is called "American Horror Story: Madhouse": The story takes place in the "Briarcliff Sanatorium" in New England in the 1960s. There are only three types of people living here: doctors and nurses, priests and nuns, and mentally ill patients (to be precise, mentally ill criminals). This "sanatorium" is jointly managed by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) and senior priest Timothy OHara (Joseph Fiennes). In the second season, the story starts anew and unfolds a new story; only nearly half of the main actors are retained, and the remaining actors play completely different roles from the first season.
