Plot:
On that early winter morning in 1953, the fourth child of the Deng family, "Girl" Teresa Teng (played by Michelle Chen) was born in a military dependents' village in Taiwan. Girl's talent for singing was already apparent at an early age, but her father Deng Shu firmly opposed it. Deng Shu retired from the army and began his career as a market stall owner. Girl did not understand her father's depression and homesickness, but she became his little helper in selling steamed buns and steamed buns.
