In the Middle Ages, in a small mountain village where elves gathered, the righteous magician Kardoff (voiced by Jim Cummings) expelled the evil and powerful witch Drizeda (voiced by Vicki Lewis). Drizeda was unable to match and fled in hatred, while her niece Athena (voiced by Kelly Stables), who was ignorant of the world and simple and kind, was allowed to stay. During this period, Athena also adopted the kitten Tom and the mouse Jerry. Athena's sensitive identity and the cats and mice that often got into trouble made the girl suffer discrimination from the elves.
