In the 1930s, World War II was in full swing. Sally (Karl Markovics) was very proud of his superb counterfeiting skills, and he had delicious food and beautiful women at his fingertips. But his good days did not last long. He was soon arrested for his crimes and then sent to Mauthausen concentration camp. At that time, the German Nazis planned to produce a large number of counterfeit banknotes to disrupt the economy of the Allies. Sally's talent was discovered and he became the leader of this secret counterfeit banknote manufacturing team, but his conscience prompted him to choose another way... This film is based on the original book "The Devils Workshop" by Adolf Burger. The book describes the author's personal experience. The film won the 2008 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and the 2007 German Film Award for Best Supporting Actor (Devid Striesow).
