Shaolin disciples scattered, and the Qing court's hawks and dogs pursued them relentlessly... Shaolin lay disciple Fang Shiyu (played by Ji Tiansheng) and his uncle Master Zhineng hid from the Qing army in the desert, and met Doudou (played by Li Ruotong), a prostitute who had become a good woman. The three met in troubled times, and Fang Shiyu fell in love with Doudou at first sight. The Qing soldiers surrounded the three people, and Zhineng died tragically. Shiyu and Doudou were taken back to Honglian Temple. Honglian Temple, under the control of Shen Gong (played by Huang Jinjiang), forced many Shaolin disciples into slavery. Hong Xiguan, a former Shaolin lay disciple, succumbed to Shen Gong as a foreman and fought with Fang Shiyu. Fang Shiyu was plotted against by Shen Gong and was dying. A group of Shaolin disciples decided to break out of Honglian Temple and return to freedom...
