Dracula 3D is adapted from Bram Stoker's vampire masterpiece Dracula, which has been adapted for many films. Dutch film star Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) plays the vampire hunter Van Helsing, while German film star Thomas Kretschmann, who has appeared in many Hollywood works such as The Pianist, plays Dracula himself. This is his second collaboration with Argento after The Stendhal Syndrome in 1996. Dracula 3D started filming in Turin at the end of May. Although the most advanced 3D photography equipment is used, it will still maintain the "low-cost" texture of Argento's works. The film also includes Argento's daughter Aisha Argento and Italian newcomer Marta Gastini, who has an eye-catching performance in The Ritual, while the role of Jonathan Harker will be played by Miguel Angé Sylvester from Spain.
