The film is adapted from the true story in the novel "Arthur: A Dog's Journey into the Jungle". It tells the story of Swedish off-road racer Mikael Lindnord (played by Mark Wahlberg) and his teammates who gave meatballs to a poor stray dog while crossing the Ecuadorian rainforest. Unexpectedly, the dog followed them to complete the remaining 700 kilometers of the race.
