This film is adapted from Philip K. Dick's short story "Adjustment Team". David Norris (Matt Damon), who is born to be on the political stage, is a rising star in the political arena. During his confident campaign for the New York State Senate, he accidentally met the beautiful ballerina Alice (Emily Blunt). The two fell in love at first sight. Just when their feelings were strong, David was suddenly kidnapped by a group of mysterious people wearing black suits, black hats and sunglasses. This group of people who claimed to be affiliated with the Federal Bureau of Human Destiny Adjustment told David that he was destined to be president and that Alice would become a world-famous choreographer. Their love would make the future of both of them come to nothing. The Bureau of Adjustment tried every means to prevent the two from meeting again. Will David, who knows the truth, pursue his dream and give up Alice? Or will he fight against the Bureau of Destiny Adjustment for true love?
