Plot:
On June 15, 1950, at the opening ceremony of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, the regiment commander Ma Zutang handed the "Road Pioneer" flag to Luo Xiangqian, the company commander of the Pioneer Company. Luo Xiangqian led the soldiers to build the roadbed. He explored the layered filling and tamping method to solve the problem of insufficient stability of the roadbed. In the autumn of 1950, the Korean War broke out and the Chinese People's Volunteer Army entered the Korean War. Luo Xiangqian was left behind. He led the civilian workers to build the largest bridge, the Tuojiang Bridge. Unexpectedly, it was sabotaged by spies and many civilian workers died. Luo Xiangqian vowed to repair the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway and comfort the sacrificed workers. In the Baishuao Tunnel section, he and technician Ye Lan were working with the civilian workers. Suddenly, a landslide occurred, and many civilian workers were buried. Luo Xiangqian was suspended. After investigation, the collapse was a geological disaster. Luo Xiangqian resumed his post. The civilian workers worked overtime and the tunnel was soon connected. On July 1, 1952, the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway was fully opened to traffic. Luo Xiangqian and Ye Lan held a unique wedding in the carriage.
