Plot:
When he was a child, Masaya left his hometown of Kokura because of his father and mother's divorce. His young mother (played by Yayako Uchida) took him back to his hometown in Chikuho. She helped in the small cooking house while raising her own children. When the school was on a long vacation, Masaya would also go to where his father lived. When he went to junior high school, Masaya wanted to get out of this small place, and just like that, he walked all the way to Tokyo, where he longed for. But as a college student, Masaya (played by Joe Odagiri) lived a failed life and barely graduated after repeating a grade. His mother (played by Kirin Kiki) had no complaints about this and supported her son wholeheartedly despite her illness. Later, Masaya finally woke up and found a job, paid off his debts, became an illustrator, columnist, and did a radio program. Masaya took his mother to Tokyo to live together, and she was respected and loved by her friends. At this time, 15 years had passed since Masaya left his mother at the age of 15, and then his mother's cancer recurred...
