Plot:
Yoshio Arima (Isao Hashizume), who runs a tofu shop in Tokyo, has a lovely granddaughter Mariko missing since she disappeared. One day, the police called and said that a woman's broken arm was found in a trash can in a park, and Mariko's related documents were also found next to it. Soon, a mysterious person called the police after changing his voice, claiming that the broken arm was not Mariko's, and Mariko had been buried somewhere else. Freelance journalist Shigeko Maehata (Miki Nakatani), who had been silent for many years, accidentally heard about Mariko's case. She contacted the discoverer of the broken arm through her familiar editor-in-chief, Shinichi Tsukada (Tatsuomi Hamada), a survivor of a family massacre. While visiting Arima, the suspected criminal called the traumatized old man one after another. In the process, similar murders occurred one after another. Shigeko kept tracking and gradually approached the truth... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by Miyuki Miyabe.
