Plot:
The story begins in Poland in 1949, just after the Second World War, when the confrontation between capitalism and socialism reached a fever pitch. Victor (Tomasz Kot) is a musician who is planning to set up a youth folk music troupe to export the country's culture by performing traditional Polish songs and dances. Producer Irena (Agata Kulesza) and supervisory official Kaczmarek (Borys Szyc) are also involved in the plan. A girl named Zura (Joanna Kulig) attracts Victor's attention. Although Kaczmarek does not think that this girl with a complicated background is a suitable candidate for the troupe, Victor still resolutely identifies her. As time goes by, the two fall in love.
