A mysterious woman named Grace (Nicole Kidman) breaks into a closed and conservative American town. She is beautiful and kind, and is escaping from the pursuit of gangsters. Tom, a writer in the town, urges the villagers to keep this woman and let her temporarily avoid the difficulties in the town.
