After a glittering space rock crashes directly into a remote New England estate, evil forces begin to infiltrate the Gardner family who live there quietly. Unconsciously, time begins to expand, nature gradually takes on an otherworldly hue, and all bright and beautiful things are affected and corrupted. The film is directed by South African filmmaker Richard Stanley, and co-adapted with Scarlett Amaris from H.P. Lovecraft's 1927 short story of the same name, "The Colour Out of Space", and starring Oscar winner Nicolas Cage.
