Plot:
A court in a southern city opened a trial for a poisoning case. The defendant Jiang Manzhi (played by Gillian Chung) was suspected of using pufferfish toxin to kill her husband Liu Muyang (played by Zhang Rui). Defense attorney Luan Zhu (played by Meng Tingyi) insisted that Liu Muyang had accidentally eaten poisoned yogurt and did not premeditate the murder. At this time, another clue showed that the victim of a rape case eight years ago was Jiang Manzhi today, and the rapist Xu Yicheng looked exactly like the victim Liu Muyang. The intricate connection indicated that the two cases were far from simple. Why did Jiang Manzhi fall in love with someone who had sexually assaulted her, and why did she kill him again?
