Niu Aiguo (played by Mao Hai) is a shoemaker in the county town, and his sister is Niu Aixiang (played by Liu Bei). Niu Aixiang wants to divorce, and Niu Aixiang wants to get married. Niu Aixiang was hurt in love when she was young, and she didn't marry the eloquent chef Song Jiefang (played by Fan Wei) until she was almost 40 years old in order to find someone who could talk, but after marriage, she found that they had nothing to say. His younger brother Niu Aiguo married Pang Lina (played by Li Qian) because he could "talk", but after 10 years of marriage, they had nothing to say. Niu Aiguo then discovered that his wife had an affair with the boss of the wedding dress shop, Jiang (played by Yu Entai). He staged a series of scenes of tracking, catching the adultery, and dragging on without divorce, and experienced a fierce process from anger, calmness to relief in his heart. When Niu Aiguo was facing collapse, others didn't care about him at all. Even his closest comrades and sister couldn't empathize with his despair and shame, and just advised him to endure it. Finally, Niu Aiguo heard a sentence from his old classmate Zhang Chuhong (played by Sun Qian) whom he met by chance: "Life is about the future, not the past." He seemed to see a way out of life all of a sudden.
