Young bank clerk Sam (Patrick Swayze) and his fiancée Mellie (Demi Moore) are deeply in love. With the enthusiastic help of their friend Carl (Tony Goldwyn), they move into a beautiful apartment and prepare for their wedding. One night when they were returning from a play, they encountered a gunman. During the fight with the gunman, Sam was unfortunately shot and killed, and Mellie was heartbroken.
