Plot:
There is a red-roofed house in a quiet residential area. Eighteen years ago, the owners of the house, a couple of doctors in a private clinic, were killed and dismembered by their own daughter Aota Ayako (played by Kudo Mio) and her lover Oobuchi Hideyuki (played by Hashimoto Yoshirō). The case was horrifying and attracted widespread attention from the world. During the trial of the case, Oobuchi published an autobiography, stating that he had killed a girl. In the end, the court sentenced Ayako to life imprisonment for being instigated by others to commit the crime; the mastermind Oobuchi Hideyuki was sentenced to death. Many years later, the new writer Ogura Sana (played by Kurashina Kana) approached the editor of the autobiography, Hashimoto Ryo (played by Kiritani Kenta), with a novel plan adapted from the case. The two thought that this novel was very necessary to publish, so they began to visit people who were related to the parties at that time. During the visit, the two were also affected by some dark emotions. The shocking truth is waiting for them ahead.
