The story takes place in Shanghai in the 1930s. Gu Weibang (played by Yang Youning) is an unknown little director. By chance, he met a female star named Meng Sifan (played by Ruby Lin). The two hit it off and decided to shoot a love thriller movie. Gu Weibang named it "Midnight Song". Everything went smoothly, and the actors joined the crew one after another, just waiting for the start of filming. Gu Weibang chose the Ligong Cinema as the filming location. Although many people warned him that there had been sensational supernatural events here and it was not suitable to stay for a long time, the stubborn Gu Weibang didn't care. Sure enough, it didn't take long for many strange things to happen in the crew.
