Peter McCall (Michael Vartan), a reporter working for a travel magazine, joins a water adventure tour group held in Kakadu National Park, Australia. However, this journey seems too boring for people seeking excitement. The beautiful female tour guide Kate Ryan (Radha Mitchell) leads everyone into undeveloped waters. Just as the tourists were enjoying the amazing lake and mountain scenery, a distress flare rose in the sky not far away. Kate insisted on checking the situation despite everyone's request to return.
