Plot:
Inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton's unfinished final novel of the same name, this drama is led by an all-female creative team. British comedian Katherine Jakeways is the creator and lead writer of the series, and Susanna White (Andor, Bleak House, Jane Eyre (2006)) is the lead director. Both of them and Beth Willis (The Aid, Doctor Who) are executive producers. The Forge Entertainment is the producer, so this should be a British drama. Rich girls, powerful men. New wealth, old secrets. In the 1870s (1870s), a group of fun-loving young American girls broke into the London social season full of corsets, setting off an Anglo-American cultural clash. Their indifference to hundreds of years of tradition is refreshing and quietly permeates the emotionally restrained (stiff upper lip/stiff upper lip) land of Britain. The "pirates" were sent by their families to find husbands and obtain noble titles, but their hearts are far more than that. A "I do" is just the beginning.
