Plot:
General Kirk, welcome back to the Enterprise! A huge cloud of high-energy ions is drifting rapidly in the distant and mysterious space. This cloud of energy has an indestructible power, enough to destroy any material structure in the universe. On the path it has passed, several starships belonging to the three major forces of the galaxy have already been wrecked...Earth - the important city of the Galactic Federation of Planets, the location of the headquarters of the Starfleet. At the headquarters of the Starfleet Fleet in San Francisco, North America, General Kirk was bored as usual, but suddenly received a perfect order to inspect the Enterprise and prepare for an emergency mission. It turned out that the Earth's defense system had already discovered the cloud of high-energy ions and detected that it was flying towards the Earth. General Kirk's mission was to lead the Enterprise to meet it before it reached the Earth and find out what was going on. After nearly ten years away, when Kirk boarded the Enterprise again, the excitement and excitement in his heart were really indescribable. But when he inspected the personnel and equipment with the current captain, Decca, he could not help but feel a lot of unfamiliarity. Because after years of continuous improvement, the function and power of the Enterprise have been greatly enhanced, but this also made the former captain, General Kirk, a little confused. Fortunately, there was a big surprise that diluted this strange feeling. The powerful Kirk actually found almost all the old comrades in a short time! The only exception was Mr. Spock, who was in advanced training on Vulcan and could not come, which became the only regret of this mission. Since Kirk was a senior officer of the Starfleet, after the departure, Captain Decca had to reluctantly temporarily hand over the command. At the beginning, there were inevitably some prejudices and frictions between the two new and old captains, but gradually they became sympathetic because of mutual understanding. Kirk found that Decca was indeed an excellent and competent captain, and Decca began to truly respect Kirk as a father. It turns out that Deckard's father was once Kirk's subordinate, but unfortunately died heroically in the doomsday weapon incident. In addition to Captain Deckard, the new faces on the Enterprise include a beautiful female navigator, Illya. Although she is a Drotan, she is a standard beauty in the eyes of Earthlings except for her hair. Even Captain Deckard had a romance with her. On the way to the energy cloud, the Enterprise suddenly had a serious malfunction and had to slow down. Unexpectedly, Spock appeared unexpectedly at this time, making all the old comrades excited. It turned out that Spock still did not pass the final test, and the human nature deep in his body could not be eradicated. When Spock faced the reality and figured it out, he decided to return to Starfleet to continue serving. However, in the eyes of McCoy, who is proficient in psychology and has insight into human nature, he has seen the complex feelings of Kirk and Spock. He felt that what they cared about most seemed not this mission, but the sense of accomplishment of returning to the Enterprise. Thanks to Spock's superb ability, he quickly helped Scott and others eliminate all the faults, allowing the Enterprise to meet the energy cloud in time. Unexpectedly, when entering the cloud, Illya was suddenly abducted by an unknown force, and then a clone that looked exactly like her was sent back. According to this cloned Illya, she was sent by the cloud as a medium for communication between the two parties. It turned out that the cloud was actually an intelligent individual! Through the fake Illya, it claimed that its name was "V'ger" and that it was about to sail to the earth to find its creator and try to merge with the creator. Then, regardless of everyone's doubts, the fake Illya began to ask questions about the Enterprise. Because of a past relationship with Illya, Deckard naturally took charge of communicating with the fake Illya. He also used this special relationship from time to time to try to get more information about V'ger from her. When the energy cloud was only a few hours away from reaching Earth, Spock stole a small landing craft and headed for the cloud alone, trying to communicate with it using Vulcan telepathy. As a result, Spock discovered that the Whiz was actually a living machine, and its home was at the other end of the Milky Way, a planet ruled by robots. Although Whiz had extremely powerful power, it had a mystery that it could never solve, just like humans - it didn't know where its life came from. But what Spock couldn't understand was why it went to Earth to find the answer? Because it couldn't stop Whiz, the Enterprise had to sail with it to Earth. After arriving on Earth, Whiz immediately began to call its creator with various signals, but of course, it received no response. But for some reason, Whiz thought that this was all caused by the interference of "carbon-based life" on Earth, so it decided to destroy all living things! Fortunately, Kirk was quick-witted and lied to the fake Illya that the creator must first meet Whiz face to face before he would answer its questions. The fake Illya believed it and led Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Deckard to the core of the energy cloud. Unexpectedly, they found that there was only an old spaceship "Voyager-Ⅱ" launched from the earth 300 years ago. It turned out that after flying over the robot world, it was transformed into a machine with wisdom and consciousness, and then continued to execute the original order given to it by humans 300 years ago: "Collect all information and transmit it back to the earth immediately." After the truth was revealed, the Vigilante made a more shocking request. It said that it wanted to truly embrace its creator-human beings. So Captain Deckard volunteered to merge with the Vigilante and the copied Illya in a strange and dazzling light. The Vigilante merged the humanity of Deckard and Illya, becoming a new life form, and left the earth contentedly to continue its endless space adventure. The crisis of the earth was resolved.
