In 709 AD, the alien Kaitan (James Caviezel) crashed his spacecraft in Norway, killing his companions, damaging the spacecraft, and sinking to the bottom of the lake. Kaitan has mastered the knowledge of the earth and the local language with the advanced machines he carries with him. While wandering in the forest, he met the Viking Ulfric (Jack Huston) and returned to the village. Kaitan told the Vikings that he was looking for a "dragon", and this dragon was a monster on his spaceship that escaped due to the crash of the spaceship. The Vikings initially thought that Kaitan was a big-talking liar, but as the villagers disappeared one by one, they discovered that the so-called "dragon" really existed...
