The story takes place in Texas, USA in 1934. The notorious and vicious robbers Bonnie and Clyde successfully escaped from prison and restarted their killing journey. Under the advice of Warden Lee (John Carroll Lynch), Governor Mafgus (Kathy Bates) found the retired Texas Rangers Frank (Kevin Costner) and Manny (Woody Harrelson) and commissioned them to bring the mob to justice. Frank and Manny haven't met for more than ten years. When Frank was shocked, his once high-spirited partner had now become a penniless alcoholic. Frank gradually gave up the idea of cooperating with Manny, but for Manny, this case was his last chance to get rid of the mess in his life.
