The story takes place during the Republic of China. The film tells the story of policeman Zhao Ren who encountered a series of supernatural events such as people in the mirror, evil spirits, and evil gods worship while investigating the case of a headless female corpse. Zhao Ren, who does not believe in ghosts and gods, is determined to find out the truth behind it. However, as the investigation of the murder case deepens, more and more horrifying and bizarre details behind the case surface.
