When the Anti-Japanese War broke out, he returned to the front line and was sent to the Zhongtiao Mountain Guerrilla Column jointly formed by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. Facing the mutual infighting of various forces, Wei Dahe still made remarkable achievements. With the help of Gao Xiaoshan, the commander of the Eighth Route Army, Fu Yang, Jiang Yazhen and other underground workers of our party, Wei Dahe experienced a life transformation from anti-communism to pro-communism after a series of brutal struggles with the Japanese army in Qiqishan, Xuehuashan, Yongji bloody battles and defending the base areas, and grew into an outstanding Communist Party member. After Gao Xiaoshan's death, Wei Dahe fought wits and courage with the Kuomintang diehards to keep the guerrilla column, and at the same time led the Shaanxi Army to fight bravely in the Zhongtiao Mountain area. He skillfully used guerrilla tactics to deal with the Japanese army, forcing Kichura Hisazo to be unable to send troops, and completely crushed the Japanese army's strategic intention to advance westward. In the end, he led the remnants of his troops to Guirenmao to contain the main force of the Japanese army. He would rather die than surrender, and fought to the end, composing a magnificent heroic hymn with his life.
