"Pirates" is set in the early days of the founding of the Joseon Dynasty, telling the story of a group of male bandits and a group of female pirates who separated from the land to capture a whale that swallowed the imperial seal and their novel encounters on the vast ocean. This film is the first Korean film on the theme of marine adventure.
