Ellen Page is in talks to star in Sony Columbia Pictures' remake of the 1990 horror film Flatliners, also known as Don't Go to the Underworld or Pulse Detector, which will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev, the director of the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and adapted by Ben Ripley, the screenwriter of Source Code. Flatliners tells the story of several medical students who conducted a bold experiment to experience the feeling of death: they stopped their heart and brain functions instantly, reached a state of clinical death, and then quickly recovered. The experiment was successful, but they could not forget the terrifying near-death experience, and something seemed to have resurrected with them to the world of the living.
