In the late 1970s, Feng Du (Jin Shijia), a young man who grew up in an old Beijing alley, first met a TV at his friend Xiao Zhan's (Li Mao) home. He was deeply shocked by the world on the screen and from then on, he made television his career. Feng Du's relationship was not smooth sailing. He and Xicheng (Chai Biyun) were in love with each other, but they were entangled by misunderstandings and refused to give in. All this seemed to be closely related to Feng Du's first love Yichun (Xu Xiaosa).
