Plot:
Chinese agent Liu Jian (Jet Li) was ordered to go to Paris to help the police department crack down on local drug smuggling groups. Due to the extreme sensitivity of the mission, Liu Jian was not informed of the specific details of the mission by his superiors. After arriving in Paris, he went to meet with Richard (Tchéky Karyo), a senior detective of the police station with whom he cooperated. The first time Liu Jian met Richard face to face, he witnessed him beating a suspect to death. He was actually a member of the drug cartel, who premeditated to kill and frame Liu Jian. Liu Jian, who was agile and witty, fought off the pursuit of dozens of Richard's thugs alone, successfully escaped, and met the American Jessica (Bridget Fonda).
