Plot:
The play is adapted from Xu Guixiang's original novel "Horse World". In 1928, during the Great Revolution, Chen Qiushi escaped the marriage arranged by his father. With the help of the progressive youth Zhao Ziming, he embarked on the revolutionary road and was sent to the Huangpu Branch to study military. Although he was thin, he had a strategic talent and grew into a general under the cultivation of his mentor. He eventually parted ways with his mentor because of different beliefs. When the Anti-Japanese War broke out, he led the troops to win with fewer troops and repeatedly made extraordinary achievements. However, he changed tactics without authorization and disobeyed orders from his superiors, which led to his demotion several times and several ups and downs. Chen Sanchuan, his son who had not returned home for 17 years and had never met, became a brave soldier in his team. He refused to recognize his father because he hated his father's ruthlessness towards his mother. Chen Qiushi was full of guilt and silently cultivated and trained his son. Chen Sanchuan's attitude towards his father gradually changed. When the War of Liberation broke out, Chen Qiushi was hit by a shell while covering a soldier. In front of the hospital bed, the father and son finally recognized each other. After that, the two joined forces to compose a touching battlefield legend on the battlefield.
