One year, the Abel Prize in Mathematics was held in Australia, and the highest honor was awarded to a pair of partners who had worked together for many years, Nimotomatsu Jin (Takasuke Jinnai) and Noda Shigeo (Hiromasa Taguchi). The two of them were in harmony, but they were actually at odds with each other. Noda had long been fed up with Nimotomatsu's boastful face without real talent, but he was forced to partner with him and share the honor that should have belonged to him. His marriage with his wife (Maki Mizuno) was also dead in name only, and his wife was secretly having an affair with Nimotomatsu. During this period, he accidentally met Furuhata Jinsaburo (Masakazu Tamura) and Imaizumi (Masahiko Nishimura) who came to Australia for vacation.
