In the late Qing Dynasty, officials were corrupt and people were living in poverty. In Zhejiang, there was a masked knight called "Iron Monkey". He robbed the rich and helped the poor for two years, making the successive prefects who sold official positions and titles complain bitterly. Iron Monkey's identity during the day is the doctor Yang Tianchun (played by Yu Rongguang). Doctor Yang is kind-hearted and loved by his neighbors.
