The fifth season of "Unforgotten" has been booked and will be broadcast in 2023. Sanjeev Bhaskar will return to play DCI Sunil 'Sunny' Khan. Due to the events in the last episode of the fourth season, Nicola Walker will no longer play the role of DCI Casesie Stuart. Sunny's new partner this season is DCI Jessica James played by Sinéad Keenan. She will take over Nicola Walker's role and investigate a brand new old case with Sunny.
