Plot:
This drama is adapted from the novel "Demons and Taoism in the Land of Abundance". This drama is set in the early 1990s, when economic reform entered a critical period. It takes the struggle between public security criminal police and criminal groups as the main line, showing the development and changes of the public security team under the background of reform and opening up, and praising the dedication and sacrifice of public security criminal police to maintain social order. Xiao Wen, Zhang Ping, and Chang Chuang were assigned to the criminal police team, and the captain Pan Rong personally served as their master. The first case Pan Rong took them to deal with was a kidnapping case. The kidnapped person was Mei Li, the female manager of the public relations department of Jiangzhou Hotel. Xiao Wen solved the kidnapper with one shot. Pan Rong was not satisfied with Xiao Wen's unauthorized shooting, but the satisfactory result still made him look at his apprentices with new eyes... Xiao Wen should be promoted to captain, but Pan Rong, the supervisor, disagreed, and Xiao Wen went to the administrative department. Xiao Wen did a good job in administrative work, but he always felt that he was not as exciting as the criminal police, and asked to resign in a rage. With the support of Director Feng and Zhang Ping, Xiao Wen eventually returned to the criminal police force, but he had no official post, and went to Beihai to engage in peripheral reconnaissance work. His work was not in good spirits, which caused contradictions between Xiao Wen and Mei Li. This film is a simple, vivid, natural and smooth style. It pursues the combination of realism style and documentary techniques, and is well-made. It reflects the profound influence of social changes on people's thoughts, mentality, feelings and careers.
