Plot:
In the early 1960s, in order to reduce the harm of wind and sand in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the state designated the Ministry of Forestry and Hebei Province to establish a mechanical forest farm in Saihanba, a plateau desert in Chengde, to resist the southward invasion of Hunshandake and Horqin sandy land. The first generation of foresters represented by the protagonists Feng Cheng and Qin Xuemei, a 369-member team of forestry college graduates and forestry cadres and workers from 18 provinces and cities across the country, led the local cadres and masses to kick off the fight against nature. Unexpectedly, due to the poor site conditions, mechanical afforestation failed and turned to artificial afforestation. In an environment with an average altitude of 1,500 meters and a minimum temperature of over minus 43 degrees Celsius, they fought the severe cold and scorching heat, sacrificed their youth and shed their blood for half a century to create "the world's largest artificial forest sea", build a strong green ecological barrier for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and protect the blue sky of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In the desolate Saihanba, Feng Cheng and his partners advanced and retreated together, shared hardships, and also gained friendship and love, and composed a magnificent poem of life.
